Lean is a practice of paying close attention to how work gets done in order to make the work process happen more smoothly. It is used in manufacturing, services, healthcare, government, and other workplaces to deliver better value to customers and users. As a result, work usually gets done faster and with less behind-the-scenes drama.
As a lean facilitator, I help team leaders, managers, and senior leaders zero in on their core problems and lead team problem solving sessions. I also coach the leaders through the process of implementing the changes the team identifies.
Lean consultants do not show up with the solution; instead, we spend a lot of time listening to the people doing the work, as well as the customers or users of the work, and walk teams through a series of exercises designed to help them solve their own problems.
